The Gangotri dham is the second dham we visit in the chardham yatra. The river Bhageerati flows fast and is quite cold. The best way to bathe is using a bucket which is offered free at the shops. I lost my bucket in the fast flowing water but was not required to pay. When Bhageerati meets Alakanda in Devaprayag, the river Ganges is formed. The place where Sage Bageerathi meditated to bring Ganga to earth is situated inside the temple.
